Green Beans with Toasted Almonds

Buttery toasted almonds play up the oaky undertones of this Chardonnay. Serve as a side dish with chicken, fish or turkey.
Yield: 4-6 Servings

Cook Time: 17 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh French green beans
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
Method:
- 1.
Place washed and trimmed beans in a microwave dish with ¼ cup water. Cover and cook on high 7 minutes or until tender crisp.
- 2.
Heat a large skillet pan over low heat, and toast the almonds in the dry pan until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Set almonds aside in a small bowl. Melt the unsalted butter over medium heat, and cook until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes. Stir in the green beans and almonds and cook until the beans are warmed through, season with salt and pepper.
