Who discovers the wines we sell?

Harry Parsley scours the wine world for great finds. As the wine buyer, he is in charge of tasting hundreds of wines every month, and picking the 25 best for our monthly tasting panels. A veteran of the wine industry, Harry has 30+ years of experience. Before coming to My Wines Direct, he was President and CEO of Buena Vista Winery.

Who reviews each and every wine to make sure it tastes, costs, and is categorized the right way?

After a wine successfully makes it through one of our tasting panels, David Andrew must give his approval before it is put on the website. One of the country' s top wine experts, David tastes and reviews each wine to ensure that it is in keeping with the mission of My Wines Direct. Before joining My Wines Direct, he was the director of Costco's wine program, the largest of its kind in the United States.

Who writes the descriptions for each wine?

Once a wine is chosen by Harry, wins the most votes of its flight on a Tasting Panel, and is approved by David, it is ready to become a My Wines Direct Selection. However, before we can sell it, we need to be able to describe it to you.

Since wine is a subjective topic, and everyone has at least one opinion on every wine they taste, we give you descriptions from two renowned writers. As he gives each wine a final review, our Wine Master David Andrew writes the short Tasting Notes you see when wines are listed together.

To give you more information on each wine, along with great food pairing ideas we also include long descriptions on each individual wine's webpage. Those are the work of Jim Clarke, our resident wine writer.
