It’s not a French wine - “Meritage” rhymes” with “Heritage.” It’s actually a combination of two words - “merit,” reflecting the quality of the wines, and, yes, “heritage,” because this blend of grapes has deep traditions. A Meritage wine can include a variety of wines with French origin.
In the Poetess, savor the blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Blending creates a complex mix of flavors and aromas, as well as wines with say, the structure and tannins of Cabernet Sauvignon with the richness of a Malbec. The Poetess is juicy, with lots of cassis and blackberry notes set off by a touch of mint. It’s full-bodied, with soft tannins and good length.
