Richland Shiraz 2008
South Eastern, Australia
Syrah really likes Australia – it even let the Aussies change its name to Shiraz without complaining. What it gained by going Down Under was freedom of expression freedom to be as big, fruit-driven and easy-going as it liked. The Richland Shiraz lives up to that potential: full-bodied, with tons of boysenberry and blackberry aromas. It's smooth and clean, with just enough firm tannins and a dash of pepper to tell you there's some drive behind the laidback pose.

The Richland Shiraz is a good wine for meat, especially lamb or pork tenderloins; the tannins are smooth, so it also works well with heartier vegetarian dishes like grilled Portobello mushrooms and some pastas.
Pairs Great With: Salsa Meatloaf
