Snowy River Semillon Chardonnay 2008
South Eastern, Australia
Semillon is Australia’s special white grape. Originally from Bordeaux, it goes into sweet wines like Sauternes, however Australia is one of the few places that also makes world-class dry wines. Snowy River uses this special grape in a blend so the grassy, honey and beeswax aromas mesh together with Chardonnay’s pear and peach notes. Medium-bodied, it’s got a smooth mouthfeel, but still has a refreshing and crisp finish. This is a nice change to serve at a party.

The Snowy River Semillon-Chardonnay goes well with seafood like shrimp and crabcakes, as well as with lighter chicken dishes. It also makes a strong pairing with many vegetarian pastas.
