Marlegan Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
Lodi, California
Cabernet Sauvignon first gained distinction in the vineyards of Bordeaux, which produce wines in the tradition of medium to full-bodied wines that favored finesse and food-friendliness over weight and power. The Marlegan looks to that tradition, even though it comes from the hills of Lodi. Its blackberry and dark raspberry aromas are matched by spicy notes of cedar and clove, wrapped in a medium-bodied package with moderate tannins and good length.

The Marlegan Cabernet Sauvignon goes well with roasted meats like London broil or prime rib; it also pairs well with soft cheeses like brie or camembert.
