Maison des Bouachon 'Les Rabassieres' Côtes du Rhône 2006
Rhone Valley, France
The Côtes-du-Rhône winegrowing region encompasses a number of small pockets around the Rhône Valley as well as a number of different grape varieties. Les Rabasssières is made from what have become the region’s most famous grapes: Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre – a blend so popular it’s now emulated by producers in California, Australia and elsewhere. It brings together notes of spice, fruit and earth, with a full-bodied, rustic mouthfeel and firm tannins, favoring a natural, rugged quality over a slick, over-manipulated, generic style.

This is a typical 'old world' Cotes du Rhone. It is full, soft, and fruity. Pair this with a grilled pork loin or chops. Very nice wine. ...

The Maison des Bouachon Côtes-du-Rhône goes well with all sorts of meats, especially lamb, sausages and beef. It also works well with rich cheeses like brie and camembert.
