Merlot is often a friendly grape. It’s aromatic and fruity upfront; if it were a dog, it would run right up to you, wagging its tail. But some are so fruity and lush that they become tiresome, like the dog that jumps up on you once too often; one glass and you’re ready for something else.
The Snowy River Merlot has learned to heel. While it’s deliciously aromatic, with lots of blueberry, blackberry, cherry and plum – even a touch of smokiness – it stays firm and focused on the palate, full-bodied, but balanced and smooth.
