Warm and sunny southern France can be great for winegrowing, as long as the grapes don’t get too much sun. Laurent Miquel has named this Viognier after their solution for getting just the right amount of sunlight: planting the vines in rows that run north to south. That way the grapes get the ripening effects of the morning sun in the east and the late afternoon sun in the west, but are protected by the canopy from the intense midday exposure.
This unique solution shows in the wine’s refreshing character; it has the smoothness and body of classic Viognier, with great pear, honeysuckle and tangerine aromas, but doesn’t get too weighty or dense.
Laurent Miquel Estates has strong belief in the process of organic winemaking making this Viognier a green wine.
