Orcala Viognier 2007
Lodi, California
Chardonnay can sometimes seem like the only white wine grape that readily produces full-bodied wines, but the long-overlooked Viognier grape produces its own fantastic wines. And while they are both grown a warm climate, each grape has its own individual style: for example, where Chardonnay derives some flavors and texture from oak-aging, Viognier unabashedly finds its flavors and textures in the grape itself.
In the Orcala Viognier that means lots of fruit – tangerine, peach, Clementine oranges – with a full-bodied, fresh mouthfeel.

This wine is fruity and on the tarty end of taste. Very refreshing when paired with a strong cheese.

The Orcala Viognier goes well with a variety of seafood such as shrimp and mussels. Its soft texture makes it especially good with spicy cuisines like Thai or Indian.
