HMV Chardonnay 2005
Napa Valley, California
Chardonnay has had its ups-and-downs in the trend-conscious world of wine pundits, but many wine drinkers have been smart enough to ignore all that - they know a good California Chardonnay is a sure thing when they want a white wine with umph. A long ripening period - in this case, aided by the cooling fogs of the San Pablo Bay - allows the grapes to ripen slowly and richly, eventually yielding a wine full-bodied and powerful enough to handle the rigors of oak-aging. The 2005 shows lots of honey, butterscotch and toasty aromas, along with notes of mango, banana and ripe peach.
Due to popular demand, this wine is sold out.
