About Snowy River ProjectThe Snowy River label was designed to bring attention to the importance of the Barren Box Wetlands project as whole, but also the significance of wetlands and their contributions to the environment. A portion of the proceeds from each bottle is donated to the Barren Box Wetlands project to assist with the rehabilitation and maintenance for many future generations. The Snowy River label represents two horsemen crossing the iconic Snowy River in Australia; a river and its wetlands which are of vital importance to the wine industry as well as the Barren Box Wetlands and its wildlife.
The aim of the Barren Box Wetlands project is to save the deteriorating wetlands by returning over 5.2 billion gallons of water to the river, surrounding estuaries, swamps, bogs and marshes each year. These wetlands provide food and shelter for the aquatic life, birds and plants who cannot survive without this critical water source. The Calabria family and Westend Estate Winery are avid supporters of this project and nature preservation in general.
